The Spark
I built Applify AI because I was tired of watching brilliant engineers—myself included—lose out on interviews simply because an ATS bot couldn't parse our accomplishments. As the founder of SKompXcel tutoring, I've helped hundreds of students master algorithms; now I help their résumés pass algorithms too.
During my job search in 2023, I submitted over 800 applications but received very few responses. I eventually discovered that most companies use Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) that filter resumes based on keyword matching before a human ever sees them.
I spent countless hours manually tailoring my resume for each application, trying to match job descriptions. It was time-consuming and frustrating—I knew there had to be a better way.
My passion for solving this problem ran so deep that I took action. Ironically enough, I cold emailed someone from one of the leading resume optimization companies, sharing detailed ideas on how to improve their product. I even applied for a position there hoping to bring my ideas to life. After sending a heartfelt email about how passionate I was about this space—not even asking for a job, simply wanting to provide input on how their product could better serve job seekers—I didn't receive any response. The irony wasn't lost on me: a company built to help job seekers couldn't spare five minutes for an actual job seeker with genuine feedback. And so, I decided I would do things differently.
Applify AI was born to fill the gaps I found in existing systems—more intuitive, more responsive, and built by someone who's been exactly where you are right now.

So, I built Applify to automate this process. The tool uses AI to analyze job descriptions, identifies missing keywords, and suggests optimizations to your resume—all while preserving your authentic experience and skills.
What started as a personal project has evolved into a sophisticated AI-powered platform that has helped thousands of job seekers increase their interview rates by optimizing their applications for specific job descriptions.
